About Me

My name is Colin Sullender and I am a Biomedical Engineering graduate student at the University of Texas in Austin. I attended the University of Washington in Seattle where I obtained a B.S. in Bioengineering. I was born and raised in Homewood, Alabama, where I graduated from Homewood High School before venturing out to the Pacific Northwest for college.

I have always been fascinated by the sciences, hence my decision to pursue a career in biotechnology through my graduate degree in biomedical engineering. Aside from my educational aspirations, I am an avid gamer, photographer, reader, web designer, social network user, and all-around tech geek. I enjoy playing traditional role-playing games, console first-person shooters (Halo and Gears of War), and numerous real-time strategy games (currently StarCraft 2). I have been involved in the launch and management of well over a dozen websites and have been the webmaster and an editor for Treeskunk Productions, a machinima video productions company, for over five years. I am an early adopter of everything that I can get my hands on and rely extensively on social networking websites to satiate my desire to stay informed and connected on the Internet.

This website will serve as a digital portfolio for my interests and my current blogging platform (until I get tired of blogging again). I plan on including more science and technology-related postings compared to my older weblogs and ideally my own Ph.D. research as it develops over the next few years. If you would like to contact me, check out the links at the bottom of each page for a variety of options. Thanks for visiting!
